Caleb Williams was asked all sorts of questions by different media personalities and outlets on Friday at the 2024 NFL combine. You can imagine the media frenzy which developed around the most interesting, important, and heavily-scrutinized NFL draft prospect of them all. Caleb Williams is believed to be the first overall pick in the April 25 draft, and the Chicago Bears have not yet traded Justin Fields, which temporarily leaves the door open in terms of where they will go at the quarterback spot in the 2024 NFL season.
Caleb Williams might land with the Chicago Bears. He also plans to visit with the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. Yet, he has identified — in his round of interviews with the media — his role-model quarterback in the NFL: Aaron Rodgers, the longtime quarterback of the Bears’ ancient rival, the Green Bay Packers. Caleb was impressed by Rodgers’ ability to throw the ball from many angles and find a platform in a lot of different situations and spots on the field, putting the ball exactly where he wants to. If the Bears take Caleb, Chicago fans can only hope that Caleb will be at least 75 percent of the quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been. If that’s the case, the Bears are going to be a very good team for quite some time.
