The Texas Tech Red Raiders men’s basketball team continues its Big 12 schedule on Tuesday with a face-off against their in-state rivals, the Texas Longhorns, in Lubbock.
The Red Raiders are having a solid season, ranked No. 23 in both the USA TODAY Sports Coaches and Associated Press polls with a 19-8 overall record and an 8-6 conference mark. However, Texas Tech lost its last game on the road at the UCF Knights and will likely fall out of the top 25 in the next update before this matchup.
The Longhorns have had an up-and-down season that has resulted in a 17-10 tally overall and a disappointing 6-8 mark in Big 12 play coming into this one. Texas has traded wins and losses in the seven games since taking the Houston Cougars into overtime — only to fall in defeat — while also dropping the last game at the Kansas Jayhawks.

The Big 12 might be the most competitive conference in men’s college basketball this season, so do not let the recent losses diminish the quality of this game. ESPN’s Basketball Power Index gives it an 86.5 rating, making it one of the top three games of the day.
