The Brooklyn Nets are still in the kind of rut that they were hoping to get rid of after returning from the All-Star break. Despite those high hopes, Brooklyn has been putting forth uninspiring performances that have left many wondering how long this kind of losing will continue, not to mention a familiar injury situation.
The Nets announced on Sunday their status report for Monday’s game at the Memphis Grizzlies and the good thing about the report is that it is mostly clean. However, the bad thing about the report is the fact that Ben Simmons is back on the injury list due to left leg soreness.
Simmons is listed as questionable for Monday’s contest so there is a chance that he will play. However, this injury is bound to remind fans of what the team has gone through since Simmons has been on the team because of how much time he has missed over the past 2.5 seasons due to knee and back injuries.
Simmons suffered his left leg injury at some point in the third quarter of Saturday’s 101-86 loss at the Minnesota Timberwolves as he exited the game with 8:04 left in the period and never returned. The Nets announced around the beginning of the fourth quarter that he was ruled out for the rest of the game because of the soreness.
Nets status report for tomorrow night's game at the Memphis Grizzlies:
Ben Simmons (left leg soreness) is QUESTIONABLE.
Noah Clowney, Keon Johnson, and Jaylen Martin are in the G League.
