Keldon Johnson: Spurs looking to ‘make the games dogfights’

Keldon Johnson says that the San Antonio Spurs are looking to “muck it up” during the final stretch of the season.

As the San Antonio Spurs prepare for the second half of the season, hopes of making a push for the playoffs have likely gone out the window. Obviously, the presence of Victor Wembanyama, a generational talent and the future of the franchise, has numbed some of the frustration of losing, but still, losing isn’t fun.

So, with the entire rest of the season still in front of them following the All-Star break, the Spurs have to reset expectations and find new ways to get up for games. One of those ways will be to make life as difficult as possible for every single opponent that stands in their way.

“We’re looking to muck it up these last 27 games,” Johnson said. “Get into people, make the games dogfights.”

The Spurs may not be a postseason squad, but they want to be very annoying. And that should be fun to watch.
