The Washington Commanders began a critical offseason of change last month by hiring Adam Peters away from the San Francisco 49ers as the new general manager. Peters, lauded as one of the NFL’s best talent evaluators, comes to Washington at the perfect time.
After hiring Dan Quinn as head coach, the next step for Peters is to rebuild the roster. The Commanders are in good shape ahead of free agency next month as they have the most salary cap space in the NFL, with over $70 million available and the ability to create more.
Then, there is the 2024 NFL draft. Washington is positioned well in the draft, too. The Commanders hold the No. 2 overall pick where it’s expected they’ll select their quarterback of the future among Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.
In addition to the No. 2 overall selection, Washington holds eight more selections in April’s draft. Here’s a look at where every Commanders’ pick falls.
