A championship isn’t in the cards for the San Antonio Spurs this year. They won’t have any All-NBA players, and they didn’t end up earning any All-Star selections, either. However, that doesn’t mean the organization won’t bring home any hardware this year, as Victor Wembanyama has a real chance at winning the Rookie of the Year award.
Wembanyama has been nothing short of incredible this year, but the Spurs haven’t been winning many games. And unfortunately for the Frenchman, his biggest rival in the race for the award, Chet Holmgren, plays for one of the best teams in the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Malika Andrews of ESPN recently sat down with both players and discussed what the Rookie of the Year award would mean to each of them.
Both players have a great case to win the award, but only one guy can take it home. Who will it be?
