The San Antonio Spurs haven’t made the playoffs since the 2018-19 season, and they haven’t made it out of the first round since the 2016-17 season when they made the Western Conference finals. But now, they have Victor Wembanayama on the roster, and he’s projected to lead them back to lasting success.
They’ve been rebuilding for the past few seasons, adding young talent in hopes of improving, but Wembanyama has helped them enter a new era. He has the talent to be the best player on a championship team, and now, it’s up to San Antonio to put the right pieces around him to help him succeed. But do they keep their current team?
The Numbers on the Board podcast recently discussed whether or not the Spurs should rebuild again with Wembanyama in mind.
Resetting the roster would be a huge change, but would it be worth it to focus on helping Wembanyama?
