The recruiting visits are ramping up for Texas A&M as head coach Mike Elko and his staff, as several key 2025 prospects will make their way to College Station in the coming months, including 4-star defensive lineman Gus Cordova.
Hailing out of Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, Cordova is a rising prospect in the defensive trenches, recording 65 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks during his 2023 junior season. This week, it has been confirmed that Cordova will visit Texas A&M on Saturday, April 6, two weeks before returning home to visit the Texas Longhorns on the 20th.
Standing at 6-5 250 pounds, Cordova has the size and athleticism to function as a defensive tackle or defensive end, deployed as both a stand-up edge rusher while relentlessly making his way to the backfield to stop the run.
After landing DeSoto (TX) star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden on Monday night, the Aggies’ recruiting momentum looks to continue throughout the spring, and as some may have forgotten, Mike Elko’s final recruiting class during his last season at Duke was finalized before the summer. With this current trend, we could see the same schedule in the 2025 cycle.
