The 2024 Daytona 500 finally got underway on Monday evening after the weather caused a 26-hour delay. It was a great moment for NASCAR as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stuck around and gave the command to start engines. The crowd was packed, the drivers were excited, and one team was more thrilled than the rest after 500 miles.

William Byron won the 2024 Daytona 500 after barely beating teammate Alex Bowman when the caution flag flew on the final lap. It is Byron’s first victory in the Great American Race following a breakout 2023 NASCAR season. The driver of the No. 24 car starts the season on the perfect note and should carry momentum for the rest of the year.
