The Kentucky Wildcats game against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday might be their biggest game of the season. They have played, and beaten, ranked teams in the non-conference portion of the schedule. However, since SEC play began, they have struggled against any good teams they’ve played.
Auburn is ranked 13th in the country coming into the game. The opposite of the Wildcats, they’ve been very good in conference play, going 9 – 3 versus SEC opponents. They’re 20 – 5 overall.
Kentucky’s top five offense goes up against Auburn’s 55th ranked scoring defense. The Tigers are also a solid offensive rebounding team, and that’s an area where the Cats have struggled. Auburn also has a deep team, ranking fourth in the country in bench points.
On offense, as they have been all season, the Wildcats are one of the nation’s best. The defensive struggles are well documented, and have popped up at the worst times. Against Auburn, they’ll need a top notch performance on that side of the ball.
