Kentucky a six seed in the Midwest in latest ESPN Bracketology

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has Kentucky as a six seed in his latest Bracketology predictions

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi is one of the best when it comes to predicting the NCAA Tournament field each year. Therefore, his weekly updates to his Bracketology are good barometers for where teams are currently at.

The Kentucky Wildcats have been falling down the brackets since SEC play began. Losses have piled up a bit, and fans have begun to be concerned that the Cats are in danger of missing the field altogether.

It seems as if Lunardi still has enough confidence in the Wildcats to not drop them further this week. He last had them as a six seed in the South bracket, and on Thursday’s update, he kept them as a six seed. They have been moved to the Midwest bracket, though.

The winner between Nevada and Utah would be Kentucky’s first round opponent in his scenario. Round two would likely see the Cats face Iowa St, the three seed. In the Sweet Sixteen, things could get interesting. Tennessee is the two seed and would be the potential opponent there in what could wind up being their fourth meeting of the year. Purdue is the top seed in that bracket.

This, and other Bracketology predictions will change a number of times before the end of the season, and with some big games upcoming, Kentucky could raise themselves into a higher seed. Fans would certainly enjoy some wins, so they could stop having to worry about missing the tournament altogether.
