UNC Basketball falls in CBS Sports updated Top 25 and 1

The UNC basketball program fell three spots in Gary Parrish’s Top 25 and 1 rankings on CBS Sports after a loss to Syracuse.

North Carolina’s loss to Syracuse did some more damage to their No. 1 seed chances as they were sitting on the two-line going into the game. While UNC still has a good resume, losses like this are tough.

It also had an impact in their ranking in the latest CBS Sports Top 25 and 1.

Gary Parrish made an update to the weekly rankings following Tuesday’s action and for the second-straight week, UNC fell. The Tar Heels slipped from No. 6 to No. 9, barely staying in the Top 10 after a loss to the Orange on the road.

Here is what Parrish had to say about UNC:

North Carolina allowed the Orange to shoot 62.5% from the field in Tuesday’s 86-79 loss at Syracuse. The Tar Heels’ next game is Saturday against Virginia Tech.

The Tar Heels will have the chance to bounce back again on Saturday hosting Virginia Tech. A loss there would really put a damper on their spirits heading into the stretch run of the regular season.

With Duke right on their heels in the Atlantic Coast Conference race, the Tar Heels are going to have to win the games they should and hopefully take care of business on the road too.
