The Kentucky Wildcats needed a win. They needed a home win, and they needed to make a statement. They did all three on Tuesday night against the Ole Miss Rebels in a 75 – 63 victory.
Kentucky started out sloppy, and turned the ball over at a higher pace than normal overall, but they shot the ball well and upped their defensive intensity. They still had occasional mistakes, but mostly played much better on defense than they have in recent losses.
Kentucky was led in scoring by Antonio Reeves, who had 15. Reed Sheppard had 13 and Justin Edwards had 12. Ugonna Onyenso led the defensive charge with 10 blocks while Sheppard had 5 steals.
As always, Wildcat fans had plenty to say about the game, and the talk was much more positive than after many of their last few outings.
