Tennessee will open its 2024 season on Friday versus Texas Tech (8 p.m. EST) in the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown presented by Kubota.
The Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers.
Tennessee, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas Tech are part of the field.
The Vols will also play Oklahoma on Saturday, while facing Baylor on Sunday.
Junior infielder Christian Moore enters his third season at Tennessee in 2024.
The 6-foot-1, 216-pound Moore has appeared in 114 games, including 90 starts, from 2022-23 at Tennessee. He has recorded 27 home runs, 86 RBIs, 101 hits, 77 walks, 96 runs and 17 stolen bases.
Moore has also recorded a .963 fielding percentage. He did not commit any errors in 2022 and totaled eight last season.
