The UCLA Bruins men’s and women’s basketball teams have been winning lots of games recently. On Saturday, the men’s team won its fifth straight with a narrow win over Cal.
On Sunday, the women’s team blew out Arizona State at home, 78-45. The Bruins had a 28-19 lead at halftime but used a 50-point second half to walk all over the Sun Devils.
Lauren Betts, who returned on Friday, was inserted into the starting five and had 18 points with seven rebounds in the win. A total of five UCLA players had double figures in another complete team effort by the Bruins.
Jalyn Brown was the only Arizona State player to finish in double figures, notching 25 points.
UCLA now moves to 18-4 overall and begins a tough stretch, facing Oregon State and Oregon on the road and playing three ranked teams over the next four games.
UCLA remains in 4th place in the Pac-12 Conference, just one game behind the Beavers and two games behind Colorado and Stanford for 1st place.
