Auburn slowly rising back up in latest Associated Press Poll

Following two wins in this past week, Auburn rises to No. 12 in the latest Associated Press Poll ahead of its rematch with Alabama.

Auburn basketball is beginning to creep back up after its recent plummet in the Associated Press Poll.

The Tigers found their stroke again this past week, defeating Vanderbilt on Wednesday and following that up with a big road quad 1 win at Ole Miss on Saturday. They moved up four spots to No. 12 in a week that featured a lot of pandemonium around the country.

After the win over the Rebels, Ole Miss completely shot out of the picture, not receiving any votes by the voters this week. However, South Carolina shot up with its recent hot streak, going all the way up to No. 15 in the polls. The Gamecocks join No. 6 Tennessee, No. 16 Alabama, and No. 17 Kentucky in the rankings, giving the SEC five teams in the top 25.

Auburn will look to improve its stock even more when it hosts Alabama in Neville Arena for the second game of the yearly series. The Tigers will then wrap the week up on Saturday when they travel to Florida, a place they have not won in since 1996.
