Super Bowl media day is infamously the site of a lot of silly questions, but there are important queries being asked of the athletes as well. As the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers met the hordes of media in Las Vegas today, those included the biggest question facing us today: What the heck is up with Cody Rhodes seemingly stepping aside so The Rock can face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40?
Even with tongue removed from cheek, that topic did actually come up today. And it was brought up by one of the biggest pro wrestling fans in the NFL, 49ers tight end George Kittle.
This is a guy who does Penta’s “Zero Miedo” hand sign sometimes after big plays, so he knows his stuff. He weighed in on the whole WrestleMania situation right near the beginning of his availability, and like just about everyone right now, he’s seen some fantasy booking ideas he likes.
“Honestly, my dream would to be like, kind of a setup,” Kittle said. “Roman shows up — I saw this online — Roman shows up, signs a contract, Cody’s on the other side, The Rock referees. Wouldn’t that be fun and special? Let’s make it fun and interesting. That was not my own idea but I thought it was really cool.”
Kittle immediately launches into a wrestling rant 😂

Kittle admitted he doesn’t have that much of a dog in this fight, as he’s a big Cody fan, enjoys Roman’s work and also says he’s “indebted” to The Rock for dubbing him “The People’s Tight End.”
So would Kittle be down for a Triple Threat match, maybe? It doesn’t appear anyone asked him that, but maybe he can break away and check out the WWE WrestleMania Kickoff press event Thursday in Las Vegas, where the main events for Philadelphia should finally get sorted out.
