UNC basketball stays put in latest Associated Press Top 25 poll

The UNC basketball program stayed put in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll after a 1-1 week including a win over Duke.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will enter this week as the No. 3 team in the country for another week. After a 1-1 week that included a loss on the road at Georgia Tech, the Tar Heels responded with a dominating win over rival Duke.

The week put UNC at 18-4 overall and 10-1 in conference play as their hot start to the season continued. It also kept them at No. 3 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.

UNC is still behind No. 1 UConn and No. 2 Purdue, both going perfect in the last week. Kansas shot up four spots to No. 4 after beating Houston and the Cougars fell from No. 4 to No. 5 in the poll.

As for Duke, they fell two spots to No. 9 in the rankings. They are the only other ACC program ranked with just Virginia receiving votes in the poll.

For North Carolina, they enter a week where they host Clemson and head to Miami for a road game. They have a chance to continue their hot play and extend their lead a little more in the ACC potentially.
