Kansas leapfrogs Houston into the top four of the Coaches Poll

A new coaches poll shows the top three teams remain with a new No. 4.

After a wild weekend of college hoops, we have the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. The Kansas Jayhawks were big movers after taking care of the Houston Cougars in Lawrence. The game was never really close as KU built up a 19-point lead in the second half and it never got closer than 11 points.

The South Carolina Gamecocks were also among the big winners of the poll as they jumped up eight spots to No. 20. In recent weeks the Gamecocks have taken down the Tennessee Vols and Kentucky Wildcats. Next up they will face the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders were sent tumbling down the rankings after losses to the TCU Horned Frogs and Cincinnati Bearcats. Saturday’s loss to Cincy was the first at home all season. The aforementioned TCU Horned Frogs fell out of the top 25 after a home loss to Texas by double-digits.
