Cornerback Denzel Ward was one of the key cogs in the Cleveland Browns’ shutdown secondary in 2023.
Ward made his third career Pro Bowl this season and made the most of his opportunity. He snagged a sensational one-handed interception of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith in the end zone to keep the AFC ahead in the Pro Bowl flag football game on Sunday.

Ward formed a formidable trio in the Cleveland secondary between him, Martin Emerson and Greg Newsome II. He missed four games with injury but picked off two passes and broke up another 11.
Ward is locked up until 2027 after he signed a new deal in 2022. However, his salary cap hit in 2024 will balloon to almost $23.5 million. That could weigh into the Browns’ decisions this offseason. Cleveland already gave safety Grant Delpit a new deal during the 2023 season, but will need to decice on Newsome II’s fifth-year option in May.
