When Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor and offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher met with the media to introduce Pitcher in his new position, the two talked about Brian Callahan and what he meant to the Bengals in his time there.
They only had good things to say about the Tennessee Titans new head coach. Taylor had trouble finding the words for how much he meant there.
“That’s hard to describe,” Taylor said, per CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia. “Tennessee got a good one. Hate that it’s in the conference. He’s waited a long time for that opportunity. It’s the right place for him.”
While the dates of games for next season have not been announced, it is already official that the Bengals will be heading to Nashville at some point where they will now meet up with Callahan for the first time on the opposing sideline. Taylor had mixed feelings about that, but he’s happy for his former OC regardless of where he ended up.
“Really happy for him and how it’s set up,” he said. “He has waited a long time for the opportunity and prepared a long time for the opportunity. The right place came calling for him, and I’m really happy. We’ll hear more what he says in his press conference. I’ll be watching anxiously to see how it’s staged. Really, really happy.”
