Bucs to pick at No. 26 overall in the 2024 NFL draft

Tampa Bay’s draft position is set after a division win and a playoff victory in 2023.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have their draft number for the first round locked in.

Tampa Bay is set to pick at No. 26 overall in the NFL draft, continuing a trend of picking later in the draft after recent success. The pick is the second-highest pick since 2021 and is seven spots lower than where the team picked in 2022 at No. 19.

The Bucs have never picked at No. 26, so 2023 will be the first time they’ve done so. The last player taken at that pick was Mazi Smith, a defensive lineman out of Michigan who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. Smith netted 13 tackles and one sack in 2023.

Assuming the team does not trade back like it did in 2022 to select defensive tackle Logan Hall (or trade up, for that matter), the Bucs will make that pick at No. 26 on Thursday, April 25 for the first night of the NFL draft in Detroit.
