After the Cleveland Browns fired him, Alex Van Pelt might get his second crack at an offensive coordinator gig with the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Raiders will sit down with Van Pelt this week to discuss their opening as offensive coordinator. With Antonio Pierce locking down the full-time head coaching gig, he will be looking for a play-caller. This is not a role Van Pelt has ever taken over, so if he got this job he would get his first crack at it.
Pierce has not filled his staff yet, and after the Raiders just hired former general manager of the Los Angeles Chargers, Tom Telesco, to the same role, they could be looking to move fast. After four years in Cleveland, could Van Pelt be set to journey out west?
Best of luck to Van Pelt as he takes on this interview in Las Vegas.
