Since [autotag]Porter Moser[/autotag] took over at Oklahoma, fan support has been the thing he’s strived for the most. He’s done a pretty good job at reaching out and getting the students in attendance, but overall, fan support has been up and down.
This season seems to have started to bring more fans to the Lloyd Noble Center. Now, the Sooners are preparing for the Texas Longhorns to come into Norman. Last year that game was one of the few ones that had a really solid crowd in attendance.
Moser spoke about what he’s expecting this season for Tuesday night’s game. “The students have been great,” Moser said. “Man, did they come out against West Virginia their first time back? We keep setting student crowds (records). They told me that the top 10 student crowds of all time here, eight of them are from the last two years. So, hopefully, the students are going to come out. We know what we’ve got to face every night out in this league on the road. People that have come into this building have been great. The more the better, strength in numbers. So, I hope this thing is packed to the roof.”
This team also deserves that. They’ve been playing so well this season that they deserve to have the fans support behind them. Especially for a big-time rivalry game.
Given how Texas coach Rodney Terry reacted to the Horns Down in the last week, it’s hard to imagine the Sooners fan base not showing up with some extra energy.
