NASCAR to debut its electric racing vehicle at the Busch Light Clash in 2024

NASCAR will reportedly debut its electric racing vehicle at the Busch Light Clash at The Colisuem. Find out more details about the effort!

NASCAR has been working on an electric racing vehicle shaped like a crossover for some time now. In fact, an image of the new electric vehicle was leaked on social media during the offseason, prompting questions about whether the sport could be ready to announce it soon. Based on a recent report, that appears to be the case heading into the 2024 season.

According to Kickin’ the Tires, NASCAR will debut its new EV racecar at the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum in under two weeks. It would be the first time NASCAR officially ventures into the electric car world. NASCAR Chief Operating Officer Steve O’Donnell said in November that it may not go racing but will be displayed at certain events in 2024.

This is a major accomplishment for the sport as electric vehicles have increased production over the last several years. As O’Donnell stated, NASCAR has no current plans to race with them yet, but it’s very interesting to watch unfold. Perhaps, the sport could race with electric vehicles down the line, but it likely depends on several unknown factors.
