On a huge touchdown during the San Francisco 49ers’ NFC divisional round matchup against the Green Bay Packers, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey might’ve gotten saved by the bell.
As McCaffrey sprinted from about 40 yards out to the end zone for an electric touchdown run, it looked like the play clock might’ve hit zero before 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy handed the ball off.
It’s a photo finish type of situation; did Purdy make the motion to hand the ball off before McCaffrey sprinted to the end zone for the score?
We’re not entirely sure, but you can bet NFL fans will be rewinding this one back and back to see if San Francisco got away with a delay of game penalty.

Purdy might’ve beat the play clock by half a second or so, but we’re not entirely sure. In a game where the 49ers needed a huge touchdown, McCaffrey delivered. It’s just a matter of if the clock agrees or not.
It’s all water under the bridge now, but it’ll still be one of the big moments from this hotly anticipated playoff matchup people talk about on Sunday morning.
