Armando Bacot praises Cormac Ryan’s leadership

Armando Bacot had praise for his UNC basketball teammate Cormac Ryan and his vocal leadership.

With a 14-3 start overall and a 6-0 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a hot start this season. After missing the NCAA Tournament a year ago in disappointing fashion, the Tar Heels’ are locked in despite some big roster changes.

And one addition has really helped the leadership on this team.

While appearing on the Field of 68 with Jeff Goodman and Hunter Dickinson, North Carolina center Armando Bacot was asked about the vocal leadership on the team. He pointed to Cormac Ryan, a transfer from Notre Dame, as a player who has taken that role.

“They have been a great addition, especially Cormac,” Bacot said. “He does the best job out of everybody just firing us up. He’s been around for a long time so, and it’s his last year so he knows what is at stake. I think all of us have a sense of urgency this year that we all know we want to win and have to win this year. All of our transfers have been great.”

This isn’t the first time Ryan has been praised for his leadership. Before the season started, Hubert Davis also praised Ryan for his leadership after joining the team.

Now, we are seeing it pay off on the court and it’s a big reason the Tar Heels are off to a hot start.
