Saints request to interview Rams’ Zac Robinson for offensive coordinator job

Zac Robinson is the latest Rams assistant to draw interest from another team. The Saints want to interview him for their OC job.

It isn’t just Raheem Morris who’s drawing interest from other teams during this hiring cycle. Rams quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator Zac Robinson has caught the eye of the New Orleans Saints, who are looking for a new offensive coordinator after firing Pete Carmichael on Tuesday.

The Saints have requested to interview Robinson for their OC position, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.

Robinson got his start as a coach in 2019 when the Rams hired him to be their assistant quarterbacks coach. He then helped coach the wide receivers in 2020 and went back to assistant QBs coach in 2021 before becoming the primary QBs coach and adding the role of pass game coordinator to his title in 2022.

Robinson, 37, is a former NFL quarterback who was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round in 2010. He spent four years in the NFL but was waived before the 2014 season.

Robinson is viewed as one of the top offensive coordinator candidates on the market this offseason after getting interview requests from the Chargers and Ravens last year for their offensive coordinator openings.

In between his playing and coaching careers, Robinson was a senior analyst at Pro Football Focus.
