The North Carolina Tar Heels are riding a six-game win streak into this week after beating NC State and Syracuse last week. And those two wins along with 8 of the top 10 teams losing have propelled the Tar Heels up in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The latest poll was released on Monday afternoon with UNC jumping three spots from No. 7 to No. 3 in the rankings. It’s the highest ranking for the Tar Heels this season and the highest since UNC was ranked No. 1 for the first three weeks of last season.
With a 13-3 record overall and 5-0 mark in the ACC, the Tar Heels are starting to hit their stride.
UConn moved into the No. 1 spot, jumping three spots in the poll. Purdue is No. 2 while Kansas checks in at No. 3 and Houston rounds out the top 5 behind UNC.
As for the rest of the ACC, Duke moved up four spots to No. 7 as the only other team in the conference to be ranked this week.
