The New England Patriots announced an introductory press conference for new head coach Jerod Mayo that’s set to take place next Wednesday, January 17, at 12 p.m. ET.
Mayo was announced as the team’s new head coach on Friday. He’s taking over the position after spending the previous five seasons as the inside linebackers coach.
Mayo will be the 15th head coach in franchise history, as New England looks to start a new era of football.
There will be plenty of resources Mayo and the incoming general manager to work with considering the team holds the third overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft and $70.4 million in cap space this year.

It will certainly be surreal seeing someone other than Belichick serving as the Patriots’ head coach. But then again, nothing lasts forever—not even Belichick in New England.
