Two NBA heavyweights collided for the second time this season as the Eastern Conference’s top team and the Western Conference’s best ball club met on the court of TD Garden Wednesday night. The slugfest between the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves did not disappoint, requiring an overtime to decide the contest in Boston’s favor 127-120.
A close affair with neither team taking more than a 10-point lead at any time in the contest, the foul disparity (27-19) in favor of Boston was really the only significant gulf between the two squads. Everything else was so even as to not have conveyed any significant advantage for either team. With the win, the Celtics now have a three-game lead over their next-closest opponent in the overall league standings, which happens to be the Timberwolves.
