According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, Pete Carroll is not expected to return as head coach of the Seahawks next season.

Schefter’s report states that Carroll may still be with the organization, but it won’t be as head coach.

This news comes as a bit of a shock, despite the disappointing finish to the 2023 season that the Seahawks just went through.

Carroll’s teams made the playoffs in 10 of 14 seasons with him as head coach and compiled a 137-89-1 record during the regular season. His reign culminated in a Super Bowl win in the 2013 season.

We will have more on this story as it develops.

Update:

The team has released a statement via owner Jody Allen, saying it was an amicable break and that Carroll will indeed remain with the organization as an advisor.
