There are no more games to be played in the 2023 college football season. The Michigan Wolverines won the finale against the Washington Huskies, 34-13, on Monday night to earn the national championship.
That means at long last, we have a definitive look at who the best teams in the nation were. While the Oregon Ducks ended just short of a spot in the College Football Playoff, they won their final game of the year, the Fiesta Bowl, by dismantling the Liberty Flames in the desert.
In the final Associated Press poll, which was released Monday night, Dan Lanning and his team landed sixth in the nation, tied with the Florida State Seminoles. Here is the top 10:
- Michigan Wolverines
- Washington Huskies
- Texas Longhorns
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Oregon Ducks (Tie)
- Florida State Seminoles (Tie)
- Missouri Tigers
- Ole Miss Rebels
- Ohio State Buckeyes
Going into the 2024 season, the Ducks have already been ranked as one of the top teams in the nation according to ESPN’s way-too-early top-25 rankings, which also came out on Monday night after the championship game.
