Rutgers lacrosse names 2024 captains

Rutgers lacrosse names its captains for 2024.

With the start of the 2024 Lacrosse season quickly approaching, the Scarlet Knights have named their captains. They will have familiar leadership in Ross Scott, who will be a captain for the second straight season. He will be joined by Shane Knoblach.

As Scott prepares for his fifth season with Rutgers, expectations are higher than ever before. The Oregon native was recently ranked as the No. 26 player in the nation by Inside Lacrosse. In 52 career games, he has been a points machine, recording 89 goals and dishing out 48 assists.

Although Knoblach doesn’t have a resume as long as Scott, Rutgers is still in good hands. The Moorestown native was recently ranked as the No. 33 player in the nation entering the season by Inside Lacrosse. During his time in Piscataway, Knoblach has been a three-time All-American, two-time All-Big Ten selection and was the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

With this talented duo setting the tone, Rutgers will be in a prime position to build on their recent success. Over the past three full seasons, Rutgers has posted a 32-14 record. In span, they have recorded 13 wins against ranked opponents. Going back even further, Rutgers has 36 wins against ranked opponents since 2003.

That success should continue with a talented roster led by two stars in Scott and Knoblach.
