The North Carolina Tar Heels have seen their fair share of departures via the transfer portal this offseason with the latest being a starting offensive lineman.
Diego Pounds opted to leave North Carolina and transfer out last week and it didn’t take him long to find a new home. On Monday, Pounds announced that he is committing to Ole Miss after spending the weekend in Oxford with the program.
It comes a week after he decommitted from UNC as he goes from the ACC to the SEC now. It also comes a day after the Tar Heels landed a big flip with Howard Sampson opting not to go to TCU and flipping to UNC, instead.
North Carolina offensive tackle Diego Pounds brings a lot more than just All-Name Team credentials to Ole Miss. The former Tar Heel left tackle started all 13 games in 2023 and has "athleticism, size, and toughness", per a former coachhttps://t.co/vVqs1kWy9r pic.twitter.com/BJYN3oHsEA

North Carolina’s offensive line will look different next year as they will look to revamp the offense overall. It will be a challenge for both Chip Lindsey and Mack Brown especially with Drake Maye heading to the NFL.
