Arthur Blank on Falcons’ search process: ‘There is no timetable’

“There is no timetable,” Arthur Blank said about the Falcons’ coaching search. “The only timetable is that we get it right.”

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t waste any time before starting their search for a new head coach, but they aren’t in a rush to finish it. Team owner Arthur Blank and CEO Rich McKay made sure to clarify this during Monday’s joint press conference.

“There is no timetable,” Blank said about the team’s coaching search. “The only timetable is that we get it right, take our time, be thoughtful, do all the interviews, be respectful, make sure we have a full diverse slate of candidates that we’re considering in every way.”

Blank and McKay talked for nearly 90 minutes on Monday, discussing their plans for the search, Terry Fonenot’s role, the quarterback position and much more.

“We’ll take as much time as we need to do that and do it correctly,” Blank reiterated. Check out our 10 takeaways from Monday’s presser along with our early list of potential head coach candidates for Atlanta.
