The North Carolina Tar Heels are in the middle of a tough three-game road stretch that will be a tough test to start off 2024 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
After beating Pitt in what was a tough, gritty road win earlier this week, the Tar Heels are heading to South Carolina to face off against a ranked Clemson team. And when they do hit the court, one of their key starters is battling an injury.
Per Inside Carolina, Harrison Ingram is dealing with a wrist injury and has been playing through it lately. Here is what he told the media via Inside Carolina after the Pitt game:
“We’re not sure exactly,” he said about the extent of the wrist issue, while seated in the UNC locker room at Pittsburgh after the Tar Heels punched their way to a 70-57 victory. “We know it’s a sprain or a hyperextension. It happened in the Kentucky game, whenever I fell and hit my head, and my wrist. So it’s just a little sprain. … I’m trying to treat it and just trying to play through it.”
Ingram has been really good for the Tar Heels in 13 games so far after transferring from Stanford in the offseason. He’s averaging 13.4 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field.
He will continue to play through the pain but it is something to monitor moving forward, especially after he struggled a little bit from the field against Pitt.
