Cardinals can spoil Seahawks’ playoff hopes

The Seahawks must beat the Cardinals and have the Packers lose to the Bears to make the playoffs.

The Arizona Cardinals will not be playing in the postseason. They were eliminated from postseason contention weeks ago and currently are 4-12 with one game to go.

Their Week 18 opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, are battling for a playoff spot as a wild card. That is possible this weekend.

The Cardinals can play spoilers.

The Seahawks, sitting at 8-8 and eighth in the NFC, need to beat the Cardinals and have the Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers. Both teams would be 9-8 and the Seahawks would have a better conference record, giving them the seventh seed over the Packers.

The Packers and Bears play at the same time as the Cardinals and Seahawks.

The Cardinals, who beat the Philadelphia Eagles last week 35-31, could end the Seahawks’ season.

Seattle has lost five of its last seven games.
