2 Texans players can reportedly earn incentive bonuses in Week 18

These Houston Texans players will be playing for more than a playoff berth this weekend.

A few Houston Texans players have more to play for in Week 18 than a playoff berth. Two Texans have contract incentive bonuses they can hit this week, according to reporter David Mendelson.

If tight end Dalton Schultz catches four passes this week against the Indianapolis Colts, he’ll make an extra $250,000. He’ll earn $500,000 total if he finishes the game with at least six catches – which would bring his season-long reception total to at least 60. Schultz has already caught 54 balls for 593 yards and five touchdowns on a one-year deal with Houston.

Running back Devin Singletary also has a pretty sizable incentive on his contract. If Singletary tallies at least 73 scrimmage yards, he’ll rake in another $250,000. He’s rushed for 835 yards and three touchdowns already this season with another 29 receptions for 191 yards. It’s his second consecutive season with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards and fifth consecutive season with at least 900.

The Texans will need both Schultz and Singletary to perform well in order to beat the Colts this week and advance to the postseason for the first time since 2019. A win coupled with a Jacksonville Jaguars loss would also hand the AFC South crown to Houston for the first time since 2019 as well.
