A new transfer target has emerged in the secondary for Auburn, former UAB cornerback [autotag]BJ Mayes[/autotag] announced a scholarship offer from Auburn on Tuesday.
Mayes spent the past season at UAB after starting his career at Incarnate Word. He started 11 games for the Blazers, making 41 tackles, breaking up 10 passes and snagging two interceptions.
The Houston native played in six games as a freshman at Incarnate Word before breaking out as a sophomore in 2022. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder made 48 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 14 pass breakups and one interception.
Auburn is far from the only school interested in Mayes, he has announced offers from Texas A&M, Illinois, Memphis, Arkansas in addition to his one from Auburn.
