Brock Purdy didn’t even need the extra game to set the 49ers’ single season record for passing yards.
In Week 17 vs. the Commanders on Sunday, Purdy completed a 5-yard throw to tight end George Kittle in third quarter to give him 230 yards on the day, and put him at 4,280 for the season. That total surpasses the previous franchise high set by Jeff Garcia in 2001. That year Garcia threw for 4,278 yards.
Purdy could obliterate the record with a big game in Week 17, and holding the single-season record in just 16 games helps stamp just how good Purdy has been in his first full season as a starter.
