Another game resulted in another monster performance by UNC guard [autotag]RJ Davis[/autotag], who has been an offensive nightmare for opposing defenses this season.
UNC grabbed their ninth win in a dominating performance against Charleston Southern, earning the fans biscuits and Davis more buzz as his breakout year continues. Davis continued his scoring output, finishing with 20 points on 53% from the field.
Davis also showed off his play-making ability, dropping ten assists with zero turnovers, marking the first time he has had a double-double for points and assists. Not only did Davis torch Charleston Southern’s offense, but he also disrupted their game plan with five steals.
The career night only adds to what Davis has done this season, as he undoubtedly has the nation’s attention. Following the game, Hubert Davis met with the media, praising the UNC guard for a string of great performances.
“He’s in a really good rhythm. His leadership has been off the chart this year. His defense has been terrific and just offensively, very few players that from an offensive standpoint have the ability to be able to score with the ball in his hands and off the ball and still be able to distribute. He just can do that. His shot selection is great. He’s just in a nice rhythm now and it’s nice to see him being celebrated for the type of player and the type of person and the type of leader he is.”
A lot that has gone right for UNC this season stems from the ball in Davis’s hands, and his decisiveness to make the right play has a belief that this could be the Tar Heels year.
