Coming off four straight blowout wins to end nonconference play, the Colorado men’s basketball team hosts Washington on Friday to open its final Pac-12 slate.
Colorado finished its nonconference schedule at 9-2, including a marquee win over then-No. 15 Miami. Washington, which enters Friday at 8-3, also picked up a key nonconference win over then-No. 7 Gonzaga on Dec. 9.
There are several big players to watch in this one. Starting with the Buffs, they’ve been led this season by KJ Simpson, Tristan da Silva and Cody Williams, who hasn’t played since Dec. 3 due to a wrist injury. The Huskies have four players who are averaging at least 10 points per game: Keion Brooks Jr. (20.1 PPG), Sahvir Wheeler (15.6), Moses Wood (11.2) and Koren Johnson (10.4).
Last year, head coach Tad Boyle and the Buffs lost to the Huskies twice during the regular season before beating UW in the Pac-12 Tournament.
