It’s been a week since the North Carolina Tar Heels have played a game, taking down Oklahoma in Charlotte. It was the only game of the week for the Tar Heels, as they began to wrap up their non-conference schedule.
Before they hit the court on Friday night against Charleston Southern, one guard is earning some recognition by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
RJ Davis was named the co-ACC Player of the Week along with Virginia Tech center Lynn Kidd. Davis is coming off a game against Oklahoma where he finished with 23 points, five assists, three steals and no turnovers in the win as he continued his hot streak.
This is the second time Davis has won a player of the week honor and the third time a UNC player has won it after Armando Bacot won it the first week.
Georgia Tech forward Baye Ndongo was named the Rookie of the Week for the conference.
