According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, a source with knowledge of the situation tell him that the Minnesota Vikings are considering starting rookie fifth-round pick Jaren Hall over Nick Mullens.
Fans started calling for Hall after Mullens threw two interceptions in the first half against the Detroit Lions this past Sunday afternoon. After finishing the game with four interceptions and six in his two starts, the thinking is that things can’t get much worse, especially when you factor in the injuries the Vikings are dealing with.
It would be advantageous to give Hall an opportunity to show what he has, especially when the Vikings are entering an offseason where the quarterback position is in flux.
Is it the smartest move for a playoff berth? Well, six turnovers from the quarterback position isn’t a winning recipe. If Hall, who has just 10 attempts across four possessions in his short NFL career, can keep the ball from going to the other team the Vikings could very well end up in the playoffs.
