Baltimore Ravens fourth-year defensive lineman Justin Madubuike has the opportunity to stand alone in the record books when he steps on the field on Christmas day. He will need just half a sack to take sole possession of the most consecutive games with a sack in NFL history.
Madubuike is currently having an All-Pro season with an extremely impressive 45 tackles, 30 QB hits, and 12 sacks with three games left in the season. He has been so disruptive that he draws comparisons to perennial pro-bowler Aaron Donald.
Back to the issue at hand, Madubuike is presently tied with a handful of others (Chris Jones, Trey Hendrickson, Jared Allen, and Shaun Ellis) at 11 straight games with at least half a sack. Sunday will be a unique challenge as the 49ers have one of the better offensive lines in the league and a Quarterback who does not take a lot of sacks.
Even with that, the prior 11 teams have been unable to keep him off the signal caller, and I’m giving him a solid 60% chance of rewriting the record book. There would be no better present outside of a Ravens win for Justin to celebrate Christmas before he heads home to the family.
