It doesn’t get much better than one of the greatest coaches of all time sharing their appreciation for you and your game.
That’s what happened recently for Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark in an appearance with legendary former Duke head basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski on his “Basketball and Beyond” radio program on SiriusXM.
At the end of their conversation, Coach K raved about getting the opportunity to chat with Clark, about her game and about how she can inspire the next generation with her You Can Too Gatorade campaign.
"You are so real. I would have loved to have coached you."
Coach K and @CaitlinClark22 caught up on Basketball and Beyond yesterday and Coach had high praise for Caitlin after their conversation.

“You have an incredible platform now. You will have, you’re going to be one of the leaders to help millions of young girls realize their dreams, not just in sport. You Can Too does not just mean sport. You Can Too means in everything.
“What I told my wife yesterday about talking to a great player, that I would enjoy it, I have to confess, I was wrong. It was fabulous talking to a great player. You are, you made my day. You know what? You are so real. I would have loved to have coached you. And you’re not afraid. You’re not afraid and God bless you. I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ll be pulling for you the whole season. Stay healthy and stay real,” Krzyzewski said.
Clark does possess a pretty amazing platform to continue to inspire the next generation, and it’s something that the West Des Moines superstar seems to have an understanding and respect for the gravity of.
From a strictly basketball sense, it’s pretty awesome seeing Clark get this type of recognition from one of basketball’s all-time greatest coaches.
Clark and the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes return to play with one final game before the turn of the calendar year on Dec. 30 versus Minnesota at 1 p.m. CT from inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
