UTSA star linebacker Trey Moore picks up offer from USC

USC could get a boost from an edge rusher in the portal.

UTSA edge rusher Trey Moore entered the transfer portal two weeks ago. He now has an offer from USC as listed below along with his other many offers.

Moore is a hot portal prospect after winning the American Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year award and setting a new UTSA record with 14 sacks in 2023. This past season Moore recorded 45 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception, and four pass breakups for the Roadrunners.

In 2022 as a redshirt freshman, Moore totaled 8 sacks and 18 tackles for loss to warrant honorable mention honors on the All-CUSA Team.

Moore leaves the Roadrunners and looks to the future with two years of college eligibility remaining.

The Texas product is ranked as the top edge rusher and No. 11 overall player in the portal by 247Sports, though plenty more names will likely be added to the list before the transfer window closes on Jan. 2. USC has to find difference-making defensive playmakers. Moore certainly rates as one.
