We’ve reached the final day of nonconference play for the Colorado men’s and women’s basketball teams.
The CU Events Center will play host to a doubleheader on Thursday with the Buffs women facing Northern Colorado at noon MT before the men challenge Utah Tech at 5 p.m.
In the women’s game, No. 8 Colorado is looking for its 10th win of the season while the Bears currently sit 4-4. Head coach JR Payne’s squad last played over two weeks ago on Dec. 5, a 95-74 win over UT Arlington.
Frida Formann, Aaronette Vonleh, Jaylyn Sherrod and Quay Miller are all averaging over 10 points for the Buffs.
As for the Colorado men, they’ve won three straight, including an upset of ranked Miami on Dec. 10, and enter Thursday at 8-2 overall. Utah Tech, meanwhile, has lost three consecutive games and is 5-6 on the year.
Colorado has been led so far by its big three of KJ Simpson, Tristan da Silva and Cody Williams, who are each averaging at least 14 points per game.
Both games on Thursday will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
