The Washington Commanders (4-10) and New York Jets (5-9) meet in Week 16 in what could be one of the ugliest games of the weekend. It’s the NFL’s worst defense (Washington) against the NFL’s worst offense (New York).
The opening betting lines installed the Jets as a favorite, which makes sense, considering they are the home team. Also, the Commanders have lost five games in a row and seven of their last eight and look like the NFL’s worst team currently.
Who will start at quarterback for the Jets? We learned, at least officially, that Aaron Rodgers will not play this season. Zach Wilson suffered a concussion in last week’s loss to the Dolphins. Trevor Siemian replaced him and will start for New York if Wilson can’t go.
The Commanders have some quarterback questions of their own. Washington head coach Ron Rivera benched Sam Howell in the fourth quarter of last week’s loss to the Rams, saying he was protecting the young quarterback. Howell will start Sunday vs. the Jets.
Now, let’s review the stats and see how these teams compare to one another ahead of Week 16.
